A EIA screening opinion has been submitted for Plot 4 & 5. References an increase in height to 170m!! And plan for construction beginning in Q1 2026

I say’s maximum height of 170m AOD. The bus interchange is roughly 8.2m AOD at ground level so assuming this is the same it will be about 162m high. Not too bad, almost double the height of the bus interchange tower.
I like the swimming pool at basement level to.
It will be interesting to see some renders

The new southern entrance looks great but the rest of the development plans look completely uninspired. The station needs a roof/canopy and at the very least escalators (in 2025, carrying a heavy suitcase down/up a flight of stairs shouldn't be a thing).

It's absolutely not what anyone was expecting, earlier plans had a bridge over the platforms with a massively expanded front concourse. Although this is an improvement it's a bit of a half job, not sure how busy the southern entrance will be to be honest.

50 floors. I would love to see it but we have been here so many times before I feel it will never happen

Fingers crossed, but I think there'll be too many people objecting. I womder of it's a tactic to take the previous 35 floor permission above 40 floors?! 50 gets turned down, they negotiate it to 40 or 45.

There was a EIA went in a couple of months ago about this, so they’ve obviously been talking to the council about it, therefore you would assume the council is happy with the plans if they are going ahead with applying for planning permission.

They look like fantastic plans, especially the lower floors with that open glass and arched design!! Although yes, we've been here before haven't we. Staying hopeful for this!

Wales on line is having a breakdown over this. I will never understand people's issue with these buildings. The City has never looked better and this building would be iconic for Cardiff, especially as the stadium is often pictures on the news.
People seem to want Cardiff stay like a small town and it baffles me why
