It will never look like that. It will be boxy with cheap materials, just like 1 Capital Quater.

Considering there's potentially a large amount off office space going on that plot I think the masterplan type of design below seems more realistic, with room at the wood street end for a hotel and/or apartment tower. The images above just seem more linked to an apartment or hotel dominated development on that plot, or is it just me ?

...although I'd prefer the design that Nick's post shows I might add !

That does look good. The buildings may look similar to these. The other pics we have seen are just generic blocks indicating a building to be built. I am sure at one point 1 central square would have had a simpler picture to what is being shown now. Will just have to wait and see what comes about when the individual planning apps come out for those buildings.

I don't know if those lovely CGIs have any basis on reality considering they don't take into account Network Rail's plans for Cardiff Central.
