Who could not be excited by this view? I hoping the architects, engineers and developers on Central Square see this and start to think a little big for their proposed tower. We need something on the left-hand side to ballance the view!

I can't keep up with all these exciting proposals!! :) If all this lot gets built Cardiff is going to be known in the UK for its skyline - kind've the Welsh Frankfurt! OK I know a scaled down version  Other uk citys may have more buildings of greater height but what's happening here seems to be a concerted effort for a cluster of tall buildings. Whoever we need to thank for this must surely look into this forum!! So if they do - then.... Cheers! - keep up the great work ;)

I agree, I travel all over the uk for work and that's by far the best skyline I've seen outside of London, providing they all get built that is.

I'm very pleased with this! It should look great alongside the John Street tower. Even though this is still all up in the air, this cluster will look very impressive if it all pulls through. I also noticed in the planning documents a mention of tower developments on Adam Street, presumably on the car park. I wonder what happened to those... If they were to ever be built they'd really add to this! (And would hide the awful Ty Pont Haern :D What will it take for the owners to re-clad that thing!? )

Thinking even further into the rather hopeful future, we could end up with two clusters if the ISV gets going. But I'd be happy if even one of those towers gets built, and surprisingly that's looking like Bayscape!

Another visual of what I really hope is the shape of things to come...

Trouble with this is that I am getting even more anxious about how important the tallest tower is to our manhattanesque (oops getting carried away again!) cluster! still I feel this is all very ambitious and encouraging for our city.

Yes indeed lets hope the tower in scott st comes off, come on rightacres!! Also taking us in that direction from this viewpoint - maybe some reasonably tall buildings on the southside of callaghan square. Getting pretty greedy now!

Greed is good! Especially when it comes to towers and their height! I'd like to see Callaghan Square completed with towers and most of the long-awaited Dumball Road development.

Regardless of whether these all come to fruition (and I'm not hinting at anything negative here), I think it's fair to say that the direction of travel in Cardiff inner-city developments is definiately upwards! Personally, I reckon it's fantanstic and I've waited years for this. It's about time Cardiff came of age and looked like a proper city. There's absolutely no reason why we shouldn't aim to have a skyline like say Auckland or Wellington.

I actually think a'll the current towers proposals will get built, but some may take longer than others.

JR Smart won't stop with their plans and leave empty plots unless they go bust or sell the development on. A lot will depend on their funding state. Yes, investment in commerical properties in Cardiff has dipped post-Brexit vote, but demand is still there and there's still a shortage of A1 space in the city and we're in a race with Bristol. They may sit on their residential schemes a bit longer until market confidence comes back, but if these are finished in 2 years, we should know the outcome of Brexit. But still, there's a shortage of housing in Cardiff.

I believe the funding is already in place for Central Square as is the funding for the Watkin Jones' towers. Bridges St is currently mobilising for site, expect to see some activity in the next two to three weeks.

Then perhaps I'll extend my greed for some tall stuff on the car park opposite the atrium - including a tallish multi-storey car park perhaps. Another Car park that has to go is Rapports - mind you the actual building might have to bite the dust also? Oh and while in demolition mode - Harlech Court your time is up! to be replaced with the citys most prestigious apartment tower - does anyone remember the glass needle? maybe altolusso would then be shamed into a re-clad! or at least a paint job!! OK better stop now or I'll fancy flattening the Park Inn hotel to! :)
