It's not the best time of the year to be erecting a crane!

I believe this weekend will still be a little gusty so perhaps the crane won't be finished, as Peiriannydd said - not a great time of year to be constructing tower cranes!! This must be having a delaying effect on construction at the site surely?

It seems the crane will be completed on the next non-windy weekend - therefore the next window of opportunity is 3rd week of June!!!! Haven't got a clue really but if the wind is a factor then according to the 7 day weather outlook next Sunday could see some progress?

FFS. Knowing Cardiff's luck this development will be cancelled because of wind, lol

3rd week of June???? If that's true (I'm sure it's not), I'm so glad I'm not in the office this week! The problem is booking the cranes required for the erection and also the necessary road closures. These all take time.

It's a 50-week programme from start to finish for that frame, they can progress up to certain levels by bringing a crawler crane back on site but they've got to get that tower crane up ASAP!

Of course the 3rd week of June is merely a Jest - in the words of Manuel (for those of more mature years) 'I know nothing' However this must be a matter of some concern regarding the project - as at this time of year predicting weather, and then committing to a fixed date with road closures, that monster mobile crane that is required, etc. must be a bit of a lottery and an expensive one! I imagine this must be something of a headache. However do they manage in the 'windy city' of Chicago?

Hmm. Looks like its gonna be a while until we see any progress. Now that construction has actually started, it would be a shame for it to get cancelled because of a crane fitting.

That simply won't happen! Watkin Jones has already sold the building on. So, they must deliver and they will. There is absolultely no talk of halting this project.
