Paul, I have seen a big hole has been dug on the bus station site this morning. Are we seeing some movement here.

There's definitely something going on but not the full on activity to get the thing built in a couple of years! :| The company doing the work on site at the moment is Horan so this is very unlikely to be the main contractor. I'm waiting for the main contractor to set up camp and start in earnest! a bit like we saw with HMRC not that long ago.

Horan did the crane base(s) for the BBC build (https://www.horan.co.uk/copy-of-atrium), would be good, and make sense if thats what the hole was for!?

Have to say the walk from Sleeperz toward Central is starting to look impressive.

Just a quick observation. I was walking into town down Tudor street today and it struck me that Stadium Plaza now looks a lot less of a dog than it did when it stood in splendid isolation. It's still not good, and the southern elevation is horrible, but from the opposite side of the river it looks okay.

Stadium Plaza may look a bit of a dog, but it's nothing compared to the yellowed, prefab scar that is Southgate House! Surely as the rest of the Square is slowly finished this building will be replaced, if not for visual appeal then a least for the fact they'll be able to get a few more rentable floors out of a new design?

At least if Southgate House was re-clad and those smoked windows replaced it would help, it is a sore thumb now everything else around it is new.

It's also filthy dirty. I don't think the cladding has been cleaned since it was built.

The building it replaced was really interesting having been built as a permenant circus building before being converted into the largest chapel in Wales. These days it would probably be repurposed but things were different back in the 1970s.
