A road crane has appeared between the sleeperz hotel and the new bus station plot. Finally something happening?

Sadly it's likely to be for Sleeperz themselves. The crane will need somewhere to park in the evening, even though it takes up almost all the path!

Presumably pile driving will be the first sign of proper action.

Yes that crane is for the 'bit on the side' of Sleeperz - whoever is operating the crane, is doing so 'blind' as it's being operated from the other side of the building.

Regarding Central Sq. - It's looking like piling can't be far away now as initial ground work seems to have gone quiet and most of surface has been levelled. Piling is in the plans - so surely marks the start of 'construction'!!

Don't they have to move a sewer first before they can start in earnest?

When I walked past last week it looked like this is still very much in progress. Big deep hole dug and large sewer pipe on site.

What a day! :) first to see that we now have a tower crane at John St. and then this at the interchange site, central sq...

looks like 2020's gonna be pretty busy on the construction front - and that by this time next year our skyline will have some new additions!

Just a random question does anyone know how many cranes are going to be up when the interchange really gets started?

I'm thinking the same way but shall settle on 4! of course the one wood street end should be the tallest as it builds what will be our tallest structure - well that is until the 'hope tower' re-emerges! :?:

Anyway back to central sq, it certainly is a hive of activity now - hopefully they are making up for lost time - great to see. :)
