Just went past on the bus and glimpsed what looked like the base of a crane on the bus station site.

At last. It's happening! I wonder how many we'll get there?

I'm home at the end of this week for a few days, I'm looking forward to a wander arount town (although I was only last home a month ago !)

Confirmation of crane base! - right in the middle of pic for the less eagle eyed

I wonder when the whole crane will be constructed? - this could be the tallest crane ever constructed in Cardiff, as the apartment tower it's assisting to build, will become our tallest building at 85m (ish)

Quantity of tower cranes? at least 3 surely required, but I'm going for 4

Any word on what is happening with building 6?

The Media Wales building sticks out a bit like a sore thumb without it.

Ring fenced for further UK Gov jobs. Huw Thomas recently mentioned it in his council speech. Completely agree that it's a complete eyesore, shame after all the millions of work going into the area!

Wouldn't be surprised if the Media Wales building is demolished to make the plot for No.6 bigger. Not sure how occupied it is but understand that Media Wales only use 1 or 2 floors.

The Media Wales building is full with Deloitte using all but the top floor.

It's a great place for a large tower!

That seems very likely, although presumably there'll have to be a proper procurement process. I should imagine JR Smart and others would pitch for it as well. It rather depends on how big an office it is, but I should imagine it's more than two men and a dog.
