Here is the planning application for the demolition of Debenhams
23/02358/PRNONothing particularly interesting, but I did find that WoL weren't mistaken when they said the building had RAAC panels in the roof. The roof demolition plan does clearly indicate "RAAC PANELS ON ROOF TO BE REMOVED. ROOF SLAB TO BE DEMOLISHED'. Theres no mention of RAAC in the demolition statement of the covering letter though. I can appreciate what they don't want to draw attention to a building material that has become almost as infamous as asbestos or combustable composite cladding, but it does beg the question of where else in the Saint Davids 1 shopping centre has it?
Given that St Davids Hall has to be closed until the roof can be replaced, it doesn't seem unreasonable that landSec should make a clear statement about the presence (or absence) of RAAC in the publicly accessible parts of SD1.
