That looks quite alright. I like the design, hopefully driving up LGA will be an impressive sight soon! As has been said arriving at Central from the East will hopefully add to a sense of dynamism. Just need to sort out York Hotel - add a few floors and it is prime location for Welsh Museum of Sport (for example)

Looking at the above images, one thing that needs looking at is the state of the railway bridges in town, from Newport Rd to Central Square, I would like to see them all repainted, maybe to a theme - the one between Maldron and Sleeprz is in particular need of attention. Ideally the one crossing bottom of St Mary Street would have a Berlin Hauptbanhoff style arch!

Something tall and boxy where no fit state is wouldn't go amiss.

I'm also wondering when we may hear of something or indeed a number of developments at that location - it's a fair bit of land. Where the actual circus top is at the moment and then across the road to the no fit state building, in front of it and behind. If the 'hope tower' (that's not its official name - just mine for it for now) is anything to go by then we could have six substantial buildings there!! - but would setttle for 2 quality developments - ok maybe 3.

Love the changes to JR Smarts apartments! - and fair play to JR Smart they usually deliver!

Got bored while watching the ashes, so here's a visualisation of the skyline after the 4 planned towers are built (hopefully ;) ).

A few big gaps in there, but quite good by UK standards. The Callaghan Square buildings should help as I believe there are one or two mid-talls planned. And yes, no-fit-state does take up a lot of potential space, so these gaps should eventually be filled.

Nice one Cen! - yes with the addition of the 'no fit state twin towers!!' the view travelling back into town from the bay should be quite impressive! and very impressive on a UK level. Of course the usual question arrises at to whether the proposals get built?

If no fit state were built then that would be a decent cluster

Previous mutterings of a public sector hub at Capital Quarter appear to have some basis. Public Health Wales NHS Trust have notified staff that they have taken three floors - I think of Number 2 - to amalgamate many of the smaller, often outdated, offices across Cardiff they inherited when the organisation was established. Expected move in date is April-June next year.

This replaces their existing accommodation at the Temple of Peace, 14 Cathedral Road and a fair few others.

Quite - or the RWCMD, but would either want it? It doesn't offer much space (the Temple Hall and the Council Chamber take up half the building) and it does not make good office accommodation. Add in the fact it is in a poor state of repair externally and they may wish to concentrate on modern, fit for purpose buildings.

I think there are covenants on the building, but am not sure on the resulting limitations or restrictions.

That's good news for the development. Something was in the Western Mail/Echo about them wanting to consolidate into one office and Capital Quarter or Capital Tower had been mentioned. How full is number 1 at the moment ? I know there's Finance Wales and Alert Logic in there but can't remember who else.
