Cardiff Buzzing - 2 big concerts today!

PostFri Jun 05, 2015 12:35 pm

So glad the weather seems to be good for these two big concerts today. Personally not going to either - but that Cardiff castle one is going to be special! Anyway what a great advert for the city today - let's just hope the transport systems cope with some 80,000? punters. Oh and at least those arriving via Cardiff Central will see that something is at last happening to improve the area. I'm hoping it's going to be a great day for the City of Cardiff!

Combined with Glamorgan Cricket, it is going to be busy tonight! Only a good thing as I would imagine hotels, cafes, bars & restaurants will do a roaring trade over the next 24-30 hours. I am sure tomorrow will be busy with the overnighters doing a bit of retail therapy before going home.

Not off to a good start, when the BBC Wales Travel News starts its queue report at Leigh Delamare Services
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-33027978
Stop-start traffic for 45 miles has been reported on the M4 as thousands of music fans head to Cardiff.

It amazes me that the J33 saga is still going on, If I were WAG Transport Minister I would kick Griffiths Construction back to Abergaveeny, 18 months now and I reckon it will be still gridlocked when its finished. Balfourbeaty could have built a dedicated link road between J34 and J33 in this time.
