There's probably some very valid points in there - not specifically about Cardiff though more about always choosing larger cities, so not too bad!

The media have said the same about nearly every major sporting event in history. Then it usually all goes smoothly and the media end up with egg on their face. Over and over again this happens. Classic examples are the London 2012 Olympics and the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

There's no doubt that this event will test Cardiff, but as long as the trains run smoothly, I can't foresee any major problems. In my admittedly biased opinion, I believe it's laid out to be one of the best cities for sporting events. No long travels to the stadium from the city centre (which really does kill the mood) and quick access to bars, the bay and the parks for the celebrations/drowning of sorrows.

I for one can't wait!

I was commented more someone's updates from Twitter etc. A light jest!

Don't get me wrong, I think this is fantastic for Cardiff and I absolutely love big sporting events. The publicity alone will be amazing as this event will probably grab more attention that any previous rugby event or even the FA Cup finals. Hopefully they'll do a few up-to-date fly over shots of the city that'll capture all those magnificent cranes, demonstrating that ours is a city on the up.

But, I'm just not that excited about football. Sorry.

It would be nice for all those involved if Arriva Trains and Great Western Railway get their act together for this one too! The chaos at Central Station during previous rugby events is just unacceptable for a capital city and gave a really bad impression to foreign visitors. We're not talking about relatively small stations like Wembely Park or Murrayfield's tram stop, we're talking about the busiest station in Wales! It should be able to handle a major event.

I saw this the other day and wondered if this ugly car park was being demolished!! or re-clad? well kind of - temporarily at least! A massive banner is to be put up with a digital screen in the middle for the big match. So that's good news that the many thousands of first time stadium/cardiff visitors will not see the detail of this depressing car park - at least from westgate street. Then on the 9th June - return to good, shouldn't that be bad? :)

Typical SE England/London bias by the Indy. They haven't realised that there is a world outside of zone 2 yet.

The roof will be closed for the big match http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-40059676
Given the security headache of this enormous event, presumably to eliminate threat from the air (relatively speaking) is something that the security forces must be pleased that Cardiff can offer. It makes me wonder if our stadium will be seen as having an edge when being considered for other large events? I believe that the 2nd largest covered arena in Europe is the Ajax ground which holds 55,000.

Should we change the website name to CranesRUS?
