I hope those aren't the conditions as the bus station isn't due till late 2017/early 2018.

I thought one of the stumbling blocks is that we don't have enough hotels for these major events as well.

That's only wishful thinking on my part, and yes I think the hotels were a big issue. Maybe they haven't asked but presumed we had a bus station!! Mind you, although we know how painfully slow these projects can be to come off in this neck of the woods, it doesn't seem at all unrealistic that the new bus station couldn't be achieved in just under 2years. I know we always seem to make comparisons with chinese developments but if it was their bid (yes I know unlikely for this european cup!) They'd show a patch of land - Construct a stadium - hotels - advanced transport systems and what the heck, a city to surround it! in this timeframe!! :)

Still it'll be great to just have it confirmed tomorrow, and any additional already planned developments - accelerated, that may accompany it would just be a bonus.

Yes it would be great to get it and it would surely be a catalyst for redevelopment and add some rocket fuel to the current proposals!

I guess the difference between all of the FA Cup finals hosted and the CL is the number of fans who'll need to stay as one or more of the teams will likely be from continental Europe.

This all seems a little quiet! not only that an announcement hasn't been made, but that the media who were jumping up and down with excitement for todays confirmation - don't even seem to be running a story about it? :?
Maybe it's just me panicking as I think this cup final would be amazing for Cardiff!

Ok new transport developments on this very day just before the UEFA announcement (hopefully).

So my list of optimistic 'conditions' are...

1. A completed bus station / bbc / plot 2 at central square,

2. The wru westgate street development completed

3. And now I can add to that the completion of the Cardiff Phase of the Metro!!

Mind you just confirmation will be great! as it's sure to have a positive effect on all of the above, even if 2017 completion isn't 'required'

They could have sent UEFA a more up to date aerial shot!
Must be 16 years old, the building around do look drab.
