Manchester is going to have one incredible skyline when that cluster is finished. Blimey. All look high quality based on the photos of construction, too.

Piling mat was due to start on the 18/12 for one week ( whatever that is). Piling is due to start on 19/2/2018 and last for a month.

A piling mat is a surface for the heavy piling machinery to stand on - they're usually made of concrete or stone.

Ah thanks for that. It’s the wrong type of enigineering for me (I’m aviation based but intresed about Cardiff buildings). Looking forward to see this building progress.

Bullshit? glass? not sure where that's from?
This building is destined to be the tallest in Wales and from renders seen thus far I don't understand why we aren't celebrating that? well actually I am - and I make no apologies for that.

As a matter of interest to those who think that this forum is for height at all costs, this forum, I started, originated from the skyscrapercity thread on Cardiff - I thought that it would be a great idea to start a message board specifically to observe the skyline evolution of this city. And guess what - that's really starting to happen now! it's not every ones cup of tea but there are plenty out there who are enjoying, and find current plans very exciting. All opinions are welcome but please remember that us high-rise fans struggle to worry about every building being a steel and glass masterpeice. As we establish an exciting city there's a good chance that they will follow!

I think he’s referring to the thread title, which actually dates back to an old render of a fake building... Funny that. I stopped noticing it until now! Still can’t see what your point is, halfnhalf...

As another point of interest!! the thread title was prior to any plans that we currently have hopefully playing out. I had mentioned to socratesarchitect that there was a very small plot of land where something tall and skinny would be an interesting thought for one of his fictional renders. In reality I didn't think this miniscule plot of land in cardiff would end up being developed into anything bigger than a sleeperz type size building. Nick responded by saying that he was aware of this plot and so with his 'New tower of glass opposit the golden cross' this thread began with his 'bit of fun' render. now I'm not saying that Watkin-Jones clocked my original posting about this plot, but you just never know who reads posts here!! ;)
