Tonnes of rebar were being unloaded from a truck at John St when I passed on the train earlier.

Looks like this is now progressing as was guessed.

Good to see it being made official in a press release.

I wonder how much interest they'll get, there seems to still be plenty of demand around judging by the Interchange news the other day?

About the 2 floor height increase. In that they were linking L&G, an 'undisclosed government department' as well as Monzo.

It's below and is linked to on the Central Square thread.

They have a website for the scheme, saw it on Paul's photos of the hoardings

It would be great if the tunnels were made use of. I know in London and I'm sure in other cities they have been turned into cafes and small shops etc. I think wno or similar used to be in them but it would be a shame for them not to be utilised at all.

Agreed, gives the city a bit of ‘culture’! I love railway arches in London and Manchester. Some are unbelievably huge too.

The surroundings haven't been great up to now with there being empty land next to them, but maybe when phase 2 is eventually done there'll be more life then? All I've ever seen in them
is the dance studio and I think the Handlebar Barista business using one as a lock-up. It's almost been as if they've been small industrial units on an edge of city industrial estate.

I agree though, I'd love to see them as more vibrant shops or cafes.
