If they do make a start on the hotel I hope it's built quicker than the Premier Inn

I’m sure Lloyds bank was announced as the tenant, I may be wrong there though

Anywhere that is confirmed, that just seems to be indicating they were maybe interested?

It would be great for them to move out of their existing offices and for that one to go as part of the Dumballs road area developments. It's an awful looking building.

I certainly hope so too. St William House (Loyds current building) may have fit in with its surroundings when it was first built, but as development proceeds all around it its beginning to look more and more out of place. Additionally it takes up a prominent plot of land right by Central Station which could easily accommodate 2-3 larger buildings and potentially triple the floorspace of the plot. A tower or two in this location would fit in among the planned towers south of the station.

Honestly any opportunity to replace this eyesore should be jumped on (I certainly can't imagine any replacement could be worse - it may even be popular with WalesOnline commenters :lol: )

J R Smart have applied for a one year extension on their planning permission for phase 2, assumedly they're still planning to build it but with a delay;

That is the top floor level. Top of building is 106.950m. But Ground Floor is 7.500m so total height is 99.450m

I may be being dense, but what does 'the ground floor is 7.5 metres' actually mean? Why doesn't it get counted in the building's overall height? What's the convention?
