Thanks Jeremy but "Paul without worrying you, I know you are a calm sensible person" I think you are getting me mixed up with another Paul there!! :) Yes that flood, was that the one when Marshfield became part of the sea - I believe there is a mark on one of the old churches showing the water level! Praise the lord for the Barrage!

There are quite a few of markers of the flood's height. This one is on the tower of the old church opposite the Six Bells in Peterstone. It's a private residence these days but you can just about see the mark fom the road.

Here's another from inside St Brides, Wentloog

Yeah for sure. I walked past it today and it's definitely not a flat red colour. It's not quite copper but a rusty/frosty/metallically red. It's hard to describe but looks quite nice in person. It's similar to this...

Looks okay. Anyone know if it's fire resistant cladding?

Yes I think it's shaping up really nicely! personally, I'm encouraged to think that on the strength of what is appearing to be a very welcome addition to our skyline we can look forward to the considerably taller structure on customhouse st! Mind you from previous posts on this thread I'm aware that not everyone shares my enthusiasm (I guess that's those doommongers you referred to!)

Rapports is actually quite a nice 1950s building. It's poorly maintained though and it feels out of place given everything that's happening around it.
