I heard the landlords want to convert the upstairs into flats, which wouldn't be ideal for any bar opening on the ground floor. Although I'm assuming Pulse would put up a fight against any planning application for flats opposite.
I heard from different places that pulse had wanted to open another bar in there but there were a number of issues with the building.
Flats would be a bit daft. It would get like the situation in Soho where people bought flats and then 'discovered' the area was full of bars and objected to the noise. A bit like what's going on now with summer palace.
