I've not seen the documentary but I have seen the inside and it's very impressive. I can't wish enough for this to be a monumental success. I just hope they manage to bring the rest of the building into use.

I suggest helping by eating there as well as maybe treating your long suffering other half to a night or two.

I enjoyed the documentary. No idea it went for a pound. Sorting out the front of the building is one thing, much of it is obviously still in a bad state. I wonder whether they'll just demolish much of the back and have some greenery.

The main hall is quite dark so this would give a light space, may make a nice rooftop bar perhaps.

Looking at the pics think it's on the back so pretty sure you couldn't see this from street level

Looks like there's been a new application for Coal Exchange building......glass elevation no longer included.

I happened to watch Tom Jones Gospel Christmas in BBC1 last night and quickly sussed that it was filmed in the Exchange's main hall.

I know a lot of us had doubts about the way the restoration being was being financed but credit where credit's due. The building does seem to have a secure future. Well done.

I notice the scaffolding has come down off the coal exchange.

Dormers left without windows, acroprops left in second floor window openings etc

Looks like there’s a bit of trouble. Hopefully the issue is with the contractor and not the owner.

If it is the owner the fact they have left openings open ready for winter would suggest significant problems - doesn’t cost much to board them up etc
