Whilst this is music to my (and I'm sure everyones) ears, within this article it also causes me some concern regarding a guarantee of what we are getting!

"The papers reveal that the council has a contingency plan to build a stand alone bus station and has allocated “adequate funds”."

anyway (apologies Dave :) ) but you can read the whole article here...

but you'll have to get the flora question right to do so!! - start of a new trend to get us to notice the ads

Ads? I thought everyone was using AdBlock with Chrome these days... I certainly am, makes WalesOnline look a hell of a lot better (not that it goes anyway to improve the standard of journalism, mind you!).

Why thank you - I am now and you're right so much better!

Now back to Marland Houses imminent demolition and no absolute guarantee of what will replace it...

Glad to be of service :D

With any other part of the city I too would be worried by the imminent demolition of a building with no firm plans on what is likely to replace it... However, a hole in the ground surrounded by a fence will still be a better sight to people arriving on the train than this carbuncle!

Still baffled why we haven't seen any formal planning application yet.

Totally agree that the removal of that depressing building is positive step number 1 oh and the car park. My concern reading that article is that we may either get what looks like a pretty impressive building with all singing and dancing bus station plus hotel and quality office space OR the contingency plan if option number 1 doesn't come off - now I'm hoping that this option isn't filling that big hole with concrete and putting a few bus shelters up!!! I I'm sure all will be fine but with completion date of 2017 this is all a pretty tight schedule.

I think i read somewhere that the 2017 completion date is just for the bus station. The rest of the build above will be completed later. I assumed they are trying to open the bus station as soon as possible and continue with the office scheme above whilst it is open. How viable that is i don't know.
