Thats a pretty sad end. Going from hosting the Beatles, to just 14 years later ending on a decidely low note...

Yeah, that's a stretch of the meaning of imminent. Maybe it's only a little bit imminent and mainly extremely drawn out

I wonder if plans for the Capitol have changed as a large unit is now occupied next to the pound shop.
didn't go in but it sure looked spiffing to me!! maybe this is just a pop up for christmas and masterplan unchanged?

Halifax have announced its closing it's branch in the Capital Centre. I think that's a good indication that the ''masterplans' are still going ahead.

Be prepared to be disappointed. I believe the latest plans are for a MUCH shorter tower which will equate to just a few storeys on top.
The most exciting thing about this development will be some of the brands opening new restaurant/leisure outlets.

Nata & Co have applied to open in the Capitol. This will be their fourth bakery after Clifton Street, the Bay and Castle Street.

As long as they redesign the current run-down aesthetic of the whole shopping centre into something clean and modern and somewhat futuristic, I'm fine with it just being a few floors.
