Please share your thoughts as this building nears completion (I know it's been discussed before but thought I'd give it it's own thread)

I like it. hopefully it might make that part of the world a bit more of a destination rather than a road you walk to to get to Windsor place

I think it starts off great at ground level but the top floors are letting it down somewhat - mind you perhaps not finished yet?

It's a nice building, interesting to have either side in a different finish. However, the top floors on the Dumfries Place elevation look like a few portakabins have been dropped on top, very strange indeed.

It does seem to have been designed to look as if the top two floors were added on later as a cheap extension, which is pretty odd.

it's a pastiche of shand house and the student digs above barfly. either that or Cardiff has a new architectural style

Couldn't agree more! I think it may have been something that looked good on paper but after a couple of rounds of Value Engineering, ended up looking like utter sh*t! It's a shame really, because the bottom stories looke really nice.

Ditto
The first few floors are really nice and look good next to the Sainsbury's building but those top few floors are shocking.

I think they should have better refined the design of the top two floors. Those lines down it seem to draw the wrong kind of attention and maybe a glass addition at this level would have looked better.
Is the red side brick or cladding?

i like most of this building, but i do agree with most here about the top two floors, why couldn't they carry the bottom floors all the way to the top, why the change in design, it doesn't make sense to me.
