That doesn't mean there is anything wrong with Grangetown. I also have no idea what house prices have to do with anything.
I also don't get the fascination with wanting to make use of the Taff riverbank. The Taff is more like a large stream than a river. You certainly aren't going to get a riverside setting that you would either see in the Cotswolds or central London.
Yes granted perhaps I am being a tad sensitive (and surely I have the right to be as I live here) it's because it's not the first time you've had a little dig at Grangetown - I guess I pick up on these side swipes more because I live here. Maybe you don't realise you're doing it? Regardless, I'm not particularly worried about this, but just want to stick up for the place - that's all.
Anyway I don't think our city centre is big enough to be surrounded by magnificent views in all directions - let's face it, on here we (well many of us) often like buildings to have some height and that's going to mean overlooking houses in immediate suburbs - although the Hilton is a pretty unique exception to this, being so perfectly located and not of any great height. The Macdonald Holland does not have such majestic vistas but it's nicely located nevertheless.
Regarding the Taff - it used to be like a 'large stream' but since the barrage was built, it is no longer tidal and therefore benefits from a more constant depth. I think plenty more could be made of it and fully expect that Rightacres feel the same way, of course we'll find out soonish when we see plans for this new Central Quay development, can't wait to see them.
