Looks really good and ambitious, i dont know how competition with places like Mill Lane and Mermaid Quay will be if this is to be the "new destination", let alone the sports Village proposals that are pretty dead and after this even deader.

There's something pretty interesting going on at the top of the tallest building nearest the station? I'm wondering if this will be some kind of observatory/gardens/restaurant/bar set up?

Difficult to tell from images so far, so really looking forward to more info on this one - maybe just some roof top trees :?: This is what london has in the 'walkie talkie' building...

(or am I getting carried away! :D )

If you looked closely at the picture above it has the new bus station and Cardiff Central connected. Although it's missing the Herbert Street, Custom House Street and John Street towers.

Those are some very impressive plans. And 3 significantly tall towers to boot! Finally we should see the Taff given some love. It must be the most under-utilised riverfront of any city in the UK!

This should have been built in Ebbw Vale!

This is the most significant development we've seen for the city centre, it's the first one to open up the Taff and it's scale is massive. must be an extra 1/4 added onto the CBD. Will work well as long as they get the mix of offices/apartments right so there are no dead times.

I love the idea of riverside cafes, bar & restaurants, although GCIs of course forget the 'occasional' rain.

It says in that article that planning application has been submitted. Does this mean that it is on CC planning website?
Build it and they will come.
Get it wrong and they will fall off.

I wondered the same about an online planning application but nothing yet of worth. Only 2 planning applications so far for this site - 1 to demolish some brewery buildings and 2 to create a temporary car park for Network Rail attached to the north west corner of the current southern car park. This is only temporary until the multi story gets built - running alongside Penarth road in the drawings. Temp car park to replace 50 spaces from current southern car park to be used for this development.
I'm hoping an exciting application has been submitted and just not uploaded to their online portal yet
