I have a view over this from the office so I'll keep an eye out, maybe try and take some photos or something.

Not a great view but here is the start of the cladding.

Hmm, not sure on this. I think the bus station tower looks quite cheap and tacky, and this looks like it could be similar. Hope it's more like Bridge Street.

I wonder if these new developments will have central AC. Having lived in numerous apartments in Vancouver over the years, which has a similar climate to Cardiff, I can attest to how miserable it can be without cooling. These apartment blocks can be greenhouses, especially if you live in south facing units.

An idea of what the new car park will look like.

Separately, anyone noticed how slow the apartment towers are progressing lately, at least it seems that way from the Central Square view? I'm only in the office around once a week and am not noticing much visible progress.

That render is out of date now. They have moved the entrance to the north side of the building and removed the coach bays.

They are cladding the taller of the towers. Imagine u can't notice it whilst looking at it from Central Square, but from the river, they have clad 5 levels so far. Not the fastest, but not the slowest

Not impressed by the cladding personally. The cladding on the new Curran Rd tower is significantly better in my opinion.

This wouldn't especially matter if it weren't such a prominent skyline defining building. The initial designs for the two Central Quay towers looked far better, and honestly if they kept the balconies then I'd have far less reason to complain (also balconies are fantastic for tenants and far more resi-towers should have them).

I hope it looks better when finished, and that the ground level public realm makes up for it.

The CGIs for the towers are pretty woeful IMO, there are much better finishes including Curran Rd and even Bridge St. student tower. Hopefully it won't look as bad but we'll see.
