No news sorry!!
But just wondering when we'll see some construction to start the ambitious Central Quay off? Demolition and clearing of the site seems to be ongoing although there's still a little more of the old works still to be demolished. Will it all be totally cleared before they start on the car park and the Ledger building? Really looking forward to seeing some actual construction at Central Quay!!

Not quite construction but scafolding had gone up around the old brewery building.
I'm presuming it's just a case of surveying its condition and weather-proofing at this stage.

Other than site clearing, is there any sign of any construction at all on the site? I haven't been home yet this year to see for myself.

Morally I don't think build-to-rent are the solution to Cardiff (or anywhere' s) housing problem but don't object to in such a prominent central location.
Hopefully with 700 flats, commitment for the new multi story car park and something happening with the surviving brewery building that will be enough for further corners to get funding within the Central Quay development.
Such a shame Cardiff Met went cold on the idea of relocating.... Is the Ledger building happening or did that building die a death at the same time 2 stories were added to the office building above the bus station in central square?

Well I've been keeping a keen eye on activity at this site and activity at the moment in terms of actual construction is zero! however judging by this latest news it would seem that all activity seems to be in the planning of the whole central quay development. Also hopefully work progressing on the restoration of the original main brewery building so progress on that is not very visible. At least it's good to hear that things are hopefully moving forward.

Given that Rightacres are behind both the Central Square and Central Quay developments I think it's a fair bet that we'll see real movement once the Interchange is completed north of the railway.
Developers like to work with construction teams they know and trust and since, judging by their accents, most of the building workers in CS seem to be local to Cardiff and the valleys, it would make sense for the devlopements to be sequenced.

That's a great point and it's crossed my mind also. Given the advanced state that the interchange development is at then perhaps we'll see some construction at central quay relatively soon? fingers crossed!

Notices have gone up around the site for the pre-planning consutation for what's described as phase two of the plan. It's rather odd given that work on phase one has barely begun but maybe there's tenant / investor insterest in some of the plots closer to the river.
The so called phase two includes the temporary BBC car park which will be vacant when the Interchange is completed so it could be something to do with that,
