You will note the disused railway line running from the bottom right to the top left, now if that could be reopened then it could help if not completely solve, some of the traffic problems, it would mean demolishing some houses, but you can't make an omelette without breaking an egg. It seems the councils and developers solution to this is more road, more bus routes and cycle paths.

The development has made passive provision for a LR corridor and some route variants. Any actual "metro" extension through this development is dependant on conclusion of the procurement of the core valley lines system currently in progress (expected early 2018) and, as an extension, would depend on additional capital and political prioritisation from the region AND Welsh Gov. There will be plenty of other competing priorities.

I would expect to see a guaranteed funding contribution towards a rail/light rail link to a huge development such as Plasdwr. If nothing is put into the planning conditions it's highly likely that nothing will be done and we'll end up with no transport except cars and buses and horrendous congestion.

All of this talk of the Metro is just that and there seems to be no forward thinking whatsoever.

A development like this would be expected to make a pretty hefty contribution to transport. However, it wouldn't be enough to fund a scheme like this on its own - and nor should it, really, as the scheme would also be to provide services to existing residents in the Creigau, Beddau, Llantrisant areas too (and potentially further development in the North West of Cardiff beyond this scheme in the longer term).

If there's no provision for this from the outset, before they've started any building, when they have a completely clear slate, it's difficult to see why. Surely if they're taking The Metro project seriously, this ought to be top of their list. What do you mean by "competing priorities"? The Metro is supposed to be about integrating public transport. What are you suggesting, grafting it a few years afterwards and demolishing some brand new houses to make way?

Suggest you've miscalulated your circumferences. According to that map you can't get to a train station from the Wales Millennium Centre or The Doctor Who Experience in 20 minutes.
