The renders on the BBC article make the tower seem quite short, but I'm sure when the tower is given context to the other buildings around it, it will make the tower component much taller looking.

Tower crane base being put in today - and I think there's a smaller one also. Looking forward to seeing these two being constructed - when will that be, about a month from now maybe?

There were some site offices/portakabins being installed yesterday, can't be far off getting cranes in now surely?

You sure did - There appears to be two, one being significantly more substantial than the other, so presumably we'll have a crane like the one in bridge street and the other similar to the others doing 3 and 4 cap qtr. The question is when? well it looks like it's not going to be far away. Really looking forward to having 2 giant cranes in the city centre, both constructing buildings over 80metres! I wonder if anyone reading this knows when these cranes will be constructed?....

I work nearby so I'll try and ask one of the people on site next week when the cranes will go up.

Have they removed one of the central square tower cranes? There seems to be 3 there now.. could have sworn there was 4? Also exciting to see that there are two for this, and likely a further 2/3 for the interchange. Tower cranes absolutely everywhere.

The cranes are going up on Wednesday, one at the back and one towards the left as you are looking at the site from the pavement.
