New Crane up today - significantly smaller than the main one but it's required for the 8 storey element of the development. So the site is all geared up for some serious construction! I wonder how it'll be looking come christmas time.

I hope they remember to ease off the accelerator and rapid concrete pouring when they get to floor 20 or we might end up with a Burj Khalifa.

There is no way this building will be 80m. It still looks a lot smaller that the buildings around it or at least the crane does.
I am thinking more like 68m

Ha ha ha, I appreciate the running joke always be blue. It's proposed floor count is 25 floors so it only about half way up at the moment. It's easily over 40m already.

One thing that worries me about this development is that there will be 14 stories, that when viewed from the bay have very little windows

Something really interesting that I noticed from the John Street/Callaghan Square DAS (Design and access statement) from JR Smart.

By looking at the image above, it shows that Herbert Street student tower will be 86 metres! And theyre both being planned from the same company, so it should be very accurate! This makes Herbert Street 4 metres taller than the Charles Street tower, which is also under construction.

I go past this every day and I really struggle to do comprehend how this could get to 86m unless they jack up the crane...
