I think its odds on that Labour will be in for a kicking. However it is simplistic to say that an increased vote for the Tories mean they will win the ten seats referred to in the Walesonline article. Any collapse in the Labour vote is likely to mean Plaid in Ynys Mon, possibly Llanelli and as an outside bet the Rhondda. I also think the likelihood of the Tories taking either Cardiff West or Cardiff South and Penarth is remote. In Cardiff West votes are likely to go to Plaid and in Cardiff South to the LibDems (who are likely to take back Cardiff Central).

I also don't think there will be much happening in the Valleys other than reduced Labour majorities. Any defection there will probably be spread equally between Plaid, Tories, UKIP and Lib Dems.

I do think there is a possibility that Labour could be wiped out in north east Wales although I suspect that they will hang on to Wrexham and Alyn and Deeside.

There is a long way to go in the election. The Tories have ample opportunity to balls up whereas frankly Labour can't really do any worse than they are doing at the moment. I think this will be a big election for Plaid. If they don't seriously increase their percentage of the vote (if not the amount of seats) it will be fairly disatrous for them. I think the best outcome for them would have been for Leanne Wood to stand in the Rhondda where she had a good chance of winning and for Adam Price to take over the Plaid leadership. She seems like a genuine woman with her heart in the right place but to me she is completely out of her depth.

Labour can't really do any worse??

I'm afraid they can. This could make the longest suicide note in history look like a love letter to brezhnev. I have not heard anyone actually sticking up for labour. Even in work the die hard labour voters will probably just avoid voting all together, they change the subject if elections are mentioned! The council elections will be an eye opener, might even result in calls for Corbyn to go which might be a tad too late.
As for the Lib Dems, now that Tim "God Squad" Farron has cum out on gay sex there my be a missive to all Lib Dens supporters to spread the message.

I will go far as saying Plaid will gain 2 seats this time. Ynys Môn and Rhondda.

If I understand the Labour manifesto correctly, they will put up personal and corporate taxes for Welsh people and companies in order to fund English NHS and university fees. While the Tories will abolish the Severn bridge tolls coming back into our country. Yet Labour will still win in south Wales due to historical voting loyalties. Now there’s logic for you!

The personal taxes will be for the higher earners won't they? So generally not the people that would be blindly voting for Labour anyway. Also, if spending is upped in England we'll get an equivalent increase in the Welsh budget.

I'm quite a bit undecided this election. There's not a single party that I'm happy with.

Don't forget about England's nine water companies (many of which take water from Wales) and the railways. But if England does allocate additional money for the English NHS, then there should be additional funds made available to Wales, Scotland and NI under the Barnett formula. How those devolved governments choose to spend that money, however, is their own business.

I'm hoping that recent polls are accurate and that the Labour vote is about to collapse in Wales.

It’s not because I have a downer on the Left. Nor am I some right-wing, bigoted racist calling for a hard Brexit. Nor am I a hardened Welsh nationalist.

It's not because I think that Corbyn lives in a fantasy land of student politics and seems to believe the 1970s was a good time for Britain.

It’s not because Labour cannot get to grips with figures and always tank the economy every time they are in government. Doing lovely things like raiding pension funds, further deregulation of banks and presiding over a massive surge in the gap between rich and poor.

It’s not because Labour lied about intelligence of WMD and led us into two wars that bitterly divided the country. Also, sending our boys out there with second-rate equipment, poor pay, poor pensions and sub-human housing back at base!

It's not because Corbyn has demonstrated that he isn't capable of defending this country (Trident issue, SNP-led separatism).

It's not because I see Corbyn's tax plans as a tax on ambition and probably won’t generate the income he thinks for his fantasy spending plans.

It’s not because I have serious concerns that he will try to spend the country’s way out of a debt crises. Try raising that tactic with any financial advisor!

It's not because Corbyn seems to favour the rights EU citizen living here more than the rights of UK citizens living in the EU.

It's not because I think that a team consisting of Corbyn, Abbot and McDonnell would get utterly annihilated during the EU negotiations.

No, let’s ignore all of those points (and many more that’ve failed to mention) and just focus on what Labour has actually done for Wales, especially during their last 12 years in office at Westminster and 19 years in Cardiff. Hmm… just what have they done for Wales after decades of continual support? Yeah, why is Wales such a dump with a second-class devolution settlement? The place where our best and brightest leave for better pay and better opportunities in cities as close as Bristol. The place that continues to miss out on its fair share of funding from institutions and Quangos like the BBC and Network Rail. The place that continues to lag behind economically.

I don't know, maybe I'm missing something?

I was leaning to Lib Dems as well until they announced a 1% income tax raise on all bands. While some might argue that is fair, in reality it’s those who are just managing to get by that will feel it the most. Based on the Welsh Labour’s adverts featuring Carwyn with no mention or reference to the Westminster gang, one would think they are a different party to the UK Labour and I don’t trust that Westminster will share the wealth from new taxes Barnett formula or not. Which leaves me with spoiling my vote on purpose or voting for marginal parties knowing that it won’t make any difference to the outcome anyway. I propose a new box on the voting slips, something along the line of “none of the above – go away and come back with better options”.

There does seem to have been an astonishing swing in the polls. Could Corbyn really poll higher than Cameron twice and Blair in 2005? The Lib Dems are a real mystery. The 48% appear to have withered without trace. That combined with a decent vote share for Corbyn would make it another awful result for the metropolitan elite.

If Corbyn wins, I might just leave this country. Maybe spend another 20 years overseas, becuase that's how long it'll take this country to go over his ideas of 1970's socialism.

Let's not forget this man's ideas of re-opening the pits in Wales. Yeah, that's about the extent of his imaganation for us.

Anyone on here want to see their kids working down the pits?

Yes, he may have the courage of his convictions, but the man is stuck in the world of student politics, having never grown up and never having a real job!
