So what's made the cut?
Liverpool - Newcastle - Edinburgh (which surprises me a lot)
Glasgow - Manchester - Birmingham - London (which makes more sense.)
Surprised there's not a proposal for Plymouth - Exeter - Bristol - Swindon - Reading - London tbh. No East-West connection for the South of England.
However as much as I critiqued the Cardiff-Glasgow route, it would have been lovely to have a major infrastructure project which doesn't involve London. The Cardiff - Bristol - Birmingham - Manchester - Sheff - Glasgow route sounded like it served a great amount of population. And this is speaking in the sense that the Hyperloop idea ever becomes a viable mode of transport.
In this ever-increasing London and SE bubble, and the Northern Powerhouse starting to make progress, I think its vital for Cardiff, Newport and Bristol to start working together for infrastructure links (So long as Bristol does not end up as the city with the sole benefit).
