Nice Paul, I'd like to see an updated version :)

Also do you have any new pictures for Hope St? Those pesky hoardings are stopping the quality photos!

Under construction:

Herbert Street Tower [Student Accomodation/81m]
Hope Street Tower [Residential/132m]

And a further seven are planned:

Callaghan Square [Mixed Use/95m]
Bayscape [Residential/Hotel/120m]
Capital Quarter 5 [Residential/unknown height - estimate 73m]
Fitzalan Towers [Student Accomodation/95m]
Crawshay Court Tower [Residential/Unkown height - estimate 85m]
Dumballs Road [Residential/estimate 75m]
Premier Inn, Customhouse Sreet [Hotel/estimate 72m]

It is great to see this, and if anyone has the time and IT skills it would be great to turn this into a skyline showing all buildings - existing, under construction, and planned - above a certain height

Maybe start with say 70 or 75 m. We can always change the baseline to 100m and then 200m later...

Well I did this a while ago - it needs updating, and that's on my to do list! I'll wait and see if john st is going to happen and then update

Awesome...,can I suggest setting a minimum height limit so as to exclude Ty Pont Haern..... and what about Bayscape?...and maybe add Millstad?
Build it and they will come.
Get it wrong and they will fall off.

Many Thanks!

This diagram was for the city centre only and it is now out of date, when we know more on some developments that hopefully I can add soon, then Ty pont haearn will be unceremoniously booted off the top ten shown!! I will get around to it but it maybe over Christmas that I have sufficient time to do so. I may then extend to the whole of the city so that bayscape can be included - on that one it'll be great if we hear that it is definitely proceeding. Also some in the Dumballs Road area that we may soon hear more about. We know this city is cooking on 'high-rise' gas when even Capital Tower doesn't make it on to the diagram!! maybe in a decade even custom house st tower won't be on it either - OK that's unlikely!!

Only THEN can we start making comparisons to Dubai.

Knowing Dubai, in a decade they'll have a space elevator. There's already a 1KM long tower being built in Saudi Arabia. FFS

High rise is Good, but it's mainly student resi and what will be relatively modest quality resi. I would be more impressed if we had an office block or two in there.

The best we've had to date is the medium/high Radisson blu/meridian gate imho. Cardiff certainly needs to raise the bar, and whilst Charles street is a leap forward, we have a long way to go

No - it doesnt make it on this diagram as it is not as tall as mercure holland house hotel - I think it's 11th at 58 metres

They are building an observation tower that’s 210 floors high at Dubai Creek.

I’m due to be moving back out there next week

Well done to URBANO for getting the discussion on this forum really moving again, it's been a bit quiet lately.
