Has WAG thrown them a nice cheque? Is the Cardiff office intended to be much more than a back office employing people a little above the minimum wage? Is that really worth a substantial grant?
I think a fair bit of this work is what might be termed back and mid office. But I don't think its minimum wage work at all. Here is how their delivery centre is described:
"In short: we provide centralised business administration service. Which means we support client-facing staff across all parts of Deloitte, providing specialist expertise in things like risk, research and compliance, among others. As an apprentice, you’ll be placed in one of these specialist teams and taught everything you need to know to do your job. From here you could move into all kinds of roles across the business."
So I think these are quite specialised roles, with a fair amount of knowledge. I don't know how it compares to client facing roles in terms of salary (probably less). But I'd still say people are on pretty decent wages. You can look it up on the website.
