When will Cardiff have a rooftop bar/restaurant?

So Chartist Tower in Newport is going to be converted into a 4 star hotel - That's great news for Newport!
and a glass box will be constructed on top which will be a restaurant...

And in Swansea Meridian Tower has the Grape and Olive at its top (at least it's a Brains pub!)

I'd love something like this in Cardiff - but there's nothing like it in sight at the moment :| When Bayscape Tower was proposed as a hotel there were plans for a bar/restaurant on the 26th floor. Is the closest we've got the classroom in Dumballs road?

Anyway eventually we will get our rooftop bar/restaurant surely that's inevitable - but it's looking like sometime away at the moment.

Assuming you mean on top of a skyscraper rather than just any rooftop, Capital Tower would be a great candidate. What is on the top floor at the moment?

Yes like indigo but a lot higher! I've seen that view and its great but its level with many rooftops at 5 or 6 storys. Capital tower would be absolutely perfect! With views in all direction! Including looking down on civic centre. In a pefect world it would be an extra 2 floors with floor to ceiling windows. I'm sure such a bar/ restaurant would be very popular, oh well its a lovely idea! :)

It's a perfect location too, with an entrance around the nightlife on Greyfriars Road, but more importantly in the immediate vicinity of the Park Plaza and the Hilton.

Looking at the new primer inn down the bay it almost appears like it has a roof top bar being built. Is this just wishful thinking? This would seem like a big extraviganse for a premier inn but I can see what else it would be.

Is the bar at the top of Cineworld still open?

The top Cineworld bar is very rarely open whilst the one half way up always is. The view from the top bar isn't what it was, now surrounded by the St David's car park and Admiral building.

I was thinking the same thing the other day when I was using the Pierhead Street CP.

There is a large stucture on the roof that looks far too big to be just for plant but when I checked the original planning app and there was no mention of a rooftop restaurant and the app clearly shows a ground floor eatery.

Maybe the structure is for premium rooms or suites. It's all a bit of a mystery!
