Well, unexpected, very unexpected, and I like it alot! I can't quite work out what it's replacing.

I don't think that this will get built because the building its replacing is not listed, but i think that it might be a conservation area? They kept the frontage of the buildings for the student accommodation.

They kept a tiny bit at the back.

I actually really like Landore Court, but I could quite happily sacrifice it for a quality of tower like that. 80 parking spaces almost seems generous given how central it is.

Cant they count? Thats 35 not 25!! And so a new glass needle/customhouse tower is born!! Would love it to happen but shan't get overly excited due to historic dissappointments!! :) anyway IF this tower happens I'm guesstimating 110 metre +

Think we can be pretty sure it wouldn't look quite like that either. This is a concept drawing, designed to capture public attention. It looks like the recent purchasor thinks there's some chance but perhaps not a massive chance of such an ambitious development coming to fruition?

£5 million for a property with only short term tenants paying <£300k in rent a year, would be pretty pricey. But for a development site accomodating a similar quantum of office space, 270 apartments, and retail space.. even with construction/development costs.. would seem a bit of a snip.

I'd quite like to see more added to the cluster of big buildings to the east and south sides of the city centre. I don't really find Charles Street that worthy of conservation area status (its not that picturesque, and buildings don't have great architectural merit individually or collectively). But I'd want to see the value engineered designs before making my mind up!

It replaces everything between The Friends Meeting House and Wesley Lane ie that row of not very nice faux Georgian offices.
