Goodness me, the rear entrance looks better than the front? Absolutely adore the victorian style archways. Nice to see the part of the station underneath Platform 0 being used as active frontages too. Should bring the station to life.

Wales deserves a top class train station in the capital. Can’t help but to feel that the current station feels a little bit sad at the moment. Even the grade listed part at the front is looking very grubby. Needs a good blast and clean.

Been gone a while, hence why I’ve only just seen this.

A lot of funding announced for the Metro and Wales/TfW in general. Good to see plenty of funding in there for new stations in S Wales, and for Cardiff crossrail potentially. Not sure how reliable this is coming just before an election though, and shame they are waiting until now to announce this. Better late than never though :-)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no extra funding anounced there right? It's the funding for the 7 stations that was announced last year and then just the vaguest of vague "commitment" to TfW's other future plans. The £14bn figure in the headline is meaningless as that's just TfW's estimate of what all their plans would cost, none of that money is being allocated.

The only previous announcement was £445m for various projects (not including the Metro works). Despite a lack of detail at the moment, committing £14bn is quite a jump to say the least.

The only financial committment is for the £445 million already announced. The £14 billion is only an estimate of TfWs wish list but with no financial committment.

Typical politician bullshit. More jam tommorrow - no more jam today.

Must be an election coming up....
Build it and they will come.
Get it wrong and they will fall off.

They're not committing £14bn though, the only money they've committed is that £445m. No new money was commited this week, no timeline for future money to e committed, nothing more than a "yeah, that £14bn list of stuff TfW wants to do looks good doesn't it? We're totally going to do it one day, don't know when though. A timeline for it? Nah we're not going to give anything like that level of committment. Can you mention the £14bn figure in your news headlines though, there's an election coming"
