Russell T Davies lives in the neighbouring apartment building, and has been vociferous in the media. He claims the noise generated by people screaming as they descend the wire will prevent him from writing.

Therefore, I think we should welcome this proposal with open arms....

I quite like the zip wire proposal but don't begrudge Russell T Davies, Andrew Davies and others objecting the having the noise outside their windows.

To be fair, Russell has done far more for Cardiff's economy and to promote the city globally than a Zip Wire ever will.

I'm not sure how much time Russell spends in Cardiff these days. I thought he was mainly Manchester based.

I agree entirely with Hal though. Those Cardiff-based episodes of Doctor Who were transfomative for the city's image and the Roath Lock and Bad Wolf studios have become important economic drivers.
