Cardiff's top 12 tallest buildings

I'm referring to this from wales online

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/cardiff-tallest-buildings-development-construction-15978094

coupla points...

I really don't see the stadium masts as the height of the building, so it's not in the top 12? in my book - in the same way that stadium house is 78m and not 125m. Actually Cardiff's two tallest are I believe equal at around the 81metre mark ie bridge st, and zenith student accoms. No3 is the 'old favourite' of capital tower (80m) with 4 being stadium house at 78m (ignoring fancy bit on top!) joint 5th and 6th rad blu and altolusso both weighing in at 72m (take note walesonline), 7th is ty pont heaern at 63m and then ty admiral at I think 62m? in 8th spot. Finally the tried and tested holland house at 60m. OK that's only 9 coz they've gotta be at least 60m to get on my list!! and I'm not including old tax office as it's out of town and I'm not sure but quite likely to be flattened? So the article caught my eye as I thought a few errors might creep in like... zenith 75(ish)m bridge st. 85m rad blu 63m and also the comments!! oh god imagine being stuck in a lift with those that comment on wales on line!!!!

My top 9 will become 10 perhaps within the next 6-9 months with the addition of Premier Inn at customhouse st at 63m. Others are in the pipeline and it's looking likely that the first over 90m will be the resi tower at the interchange in 2-3yrs. Also you never know but the watkin-jones tower at customhouse st may re-emerge but surely not as student accom? anyway that 132.5m would reign for some time if built!!

I actually did this about 2 or 3 years ago I think

I'll have to do an up to date one - not that things have changed much

I'm disappointed that my work is still the tallest. Cardiff deserves more than this.

What we need is you working on that one in Hope street!! ;) any news? :?: If that one doesn't get built then we don't presently have another 100m building in sight - although phase 2 at john street is only inches off 100m according to that hybrid planning app.

Would Pendeen House (the tallest one at Prospect Place) be worth including? Possibly also Victoria Wharf which reaches 14 storeys at its highest point (I'm not sure what the height is).

Surprisingly Pendeen house is not 60m it certainly looks like it should be 'on the list' but I think that's because it's quite slim. Mind you that's only my list with an entry point of 60m. Maybe my list should be over 200ft (60.96 metres) but then we'd lose Holland House which would be a shame! :) A while ago we hoped for a couple of 100m+ towers at the sports village but Bayscape phase 2 will now be nowhere near even that 60m and the other towers on various renders for the ISV are looking reasonably unlikely for some time at least :|

It is certainly very slender (I think the top floors only have 2 or 3 apartments on each level). And also the height of each storey is less in residential buildings - Admiral House (11 floors) is only slightly shorter than Alto Lusso (23 floors).

Paul. Did you ever get around to making the new building list? would love to see a new one, especially with all the new stuff proposed.

Hi Jacob - Well I'm thinking that the new list / diagram should only be existing buildings or those actually under construction. Customhouse tower always looks impressive on such a diagram (at 132.5m) but let's face it at the moment this tower is looking a little unlikely :| So - hopefully I'll get around to it soon. I'd like to re-draw the buildings from elevations shown on planning apps. Yesterday I started with the interchange development...
