Echo and Western Mail

PostSun Aug 10, 2014 9:56 pm

One question that I want to ask, is has the demise of the western mail and echo meant their is less development news in Cardiff? and is it harder to get hold of news? or covered less well in these papers?

As Mark Twain said "reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated"!

From what I hear Media Wales are actualy beefing up their newsroom a little. To be fair the two papers aren't that bad. The website on the other hand is bloody awful. It's clunky, slow and packed full of tedious slide-shows.

The one thing I've noticed is that the business supplement on a Wednesday just seems to contain stories that have already been reported in the business section each day during the previous week. I'm sure it didn't used to be like that.

No they've just been renamed to the Parochial Times :D

I wouldn't shed a tear if the Western Mail stopped being published because it might result in there actually being a news website dedicated to Cardiff! FFS even Penarth has a dedicated news website http://www.penarthtimes.co.uk/
