I must've passed a little earlier than Cardiff Bay did, but this was the state of play then

So it looks likely that the new crane will be completed on sunday and start 'earning it's corn' from monday. Presumably we'll then see another central core rising next week. One more crane then left to be constructed - I wouldn't think it will be to long before we see that one going up also :) We've waited a long time for this development but it's looking it's gonna be in full swing pretty soon!

Can't wait to see this one moving along, and to see it in person. I can't see me being allowed home for a few months so there should be a decent amount of progress by the autumn/Xmas.

You'd think there would be maybe 3 in total, maybe they are just getting started on that end first considering the height?

Don't worry Kyle you won't miss a rivet if you keep visiting here and of course here https://www.flickr.com/photos/8761770@N05/ that said when you get to see it 'in person' it should be pretty substantial! Sounds like a bit of a nightmare for you? where are you - maybe Dubai?

Is that outline of a building on the side of the Prince of Wales going to be obscured once the Interchange is complete and does anyone know what it is/was?

I imagine it will be visible from the bus stands, its the outline of St Marys church that was washed away/damaged in a flood, hence St Marys street, and is where it was located.

Yes it’s a substation and yes it will be partially hidden.

Thanks for the info. I think it's a nice feature, glad it'll still be visible to some degree. Wasn't sure whether it would end up behind a wall or something.

it will be partially seen from wood street, and I suppose it will also be seen when waiting for a bus or when on the bus at the station.

Learning some city centre history here!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Mary%27s_Church,_Cardiff

so as stated by 'cardiff' above, this old church was the reason St Mary St was so-named

a bit 'twilight zone' (anyone old enough to remember  ) but I took this today...

Image

so It'll still be quite visible - but not quite as much as it has been.
