It's a bit of a non-article for me, and a bit unfair. The additional two floors were known at the start of the year and went through planning in the Spring. It's now the end of September. Since then we've had and still have the Covid situation. At least they are getting on with it finally, and in the current situation any progress on the development front is bloody good news.

Yes the Wales online will always side with wherever they see the most comments and on the bus station they are the negative comments. I think a slip of a few months considering we have had 7 months of this pandemic with presumably more to come isn’t bad.

This looks to have 24 floors if you count the ground floor. I thought this was supposed be 27 floors for some reason

Well that's great to have confirmed, and also that all of legal and generals cardiff operation will be under one roof. By the time they actually move in, the pandemic will hopefully be a memory. a very bad one (I shan't say distant as this terrible virus is still a long way from not effecting normality, and will have left lasting sadness - I for one lost a good friend through it :| )
I think I'm right in saying that admiral has Cardiff employees not in the new HQ - I knew they should've gone higher!! ;) Anyway in early 2023 the central square area will be a hive of activity! with approx. 10,000 workers! It's nice to think ahead to a positive future!
I wonder what will happen to Knox Court? and I'm reasonably confident that we can rule out student accommodation, may be residential? conversion to a hotel? or remain as office space?

Yes Admiral are in Multi-sites across the city.

They have most of Capital Quarter No3 where their Law and part of their Claims Departments sit. They also have space in Greyfriars house where Confused.com sit and have actually partially moved back into Capital Tower! By the time the HQ was finished they'd already outgrown it.

True but I just wish something could be done to make the square itself more visualy interesting. It's just a featureless empty space at the moment.

I realise that the need for queueing space on match days etc militates against anything like fountains or permanent public art but surely something could be done to break it up a little - some market stalls or coffee carts maybe?

I've always thought that they could potentially shift some of the Christmas markets to the square at some point. It definitely has the space - but as you say, the need for match day queuing (in particular in a typical November for back-to-back weekends of games) would probably take precedent.

Build it and they will come.
Get it wrong and they will fall off.
