I'm surprised this hasn't got it's own thread - well it has now! They have remained busy all through this pandemic and are at ground level so presumably vertical progress is imminent!

here's a catch up to where we are...

and this is what they are building

Yes, we have been burnt on three buldings with supposed copper cladding, Charles street tower was red, Zenith was brown/black and Howard Gardens is yellow.

I'm wondering when a tower crane will be constructed for this development - it looks like it's due immediately? No visible crane base though. I remember the pellet st, student accom. (the majestic award winning Liberty Bridge!! ) being constructed without a tower crane - or maybe that was because it didn't want to attract to much attention! :) I guess we'll know pretty soon as it's itching to grow horizontally.

This from friday - will this be built without tower crane? Surely now is when one is normally up and running

Progress continues - if slowly! I remember when no.1 capital quarter was constructed, it took forever! sometimes only a handful of workers on site, but they got there in the end. This building under construction which is perhaps the flagship of the cap qtr development seems to be following in that tradition

They have a great webcam so you can follow progress here

OK I know I've harped on about this, but it sure looks like this is to be built without the assistance of a tower crane as surely one would be up and running by now if not. I wonder if there is a reason for this? perhaps the fact the site is boxed in with existing buildings and a tower crane maybe considered un-safe? Anyway there's a great webcam so we can keep a keen eye on this tower growing!

This development continues to chug along! and the central core is now up to the 6th level. It will probably be another month or so before it starts to appear above the other mid-rise buildings of capital quarter. I selfishly post this update so that it appears quite high in the forum order as I regularly check the excellent webcam ;)

Does it look like they are finally erecting a crane on this site? (Just looked at the live cam)
Hopefully that will speed things up a little
