I just counted 50 stories...I assume the blocks just in front are Capital Quarter.. in which case that must be approaching 180m....

At that height it would make the UK's top 10 tallest buildings. Only one build in Manchester with the rest in London. Almost double the size of the current tallest in Wales!?

I'm only getting the thumbnail - but that's enough to have me double checking the calendar, (april the 1st already! ) That's the kind of fantasy skyline I'd come up with and then think - get real!! Oh well lets see what happens?
I remember there were plans for harlech court years ago that just fizzled away, and let's face it what is there now needs to go asap!!

but regardless of the name, I've put this image up to show how huge this tower would be. Call me a sceptic (glass needle anyone! ) but I hope this isn't the last we see of this tower.

If Wales Online consider that tower 'massive', I wonder how they will describe the WTF Harlech court tower?

The most recent planning app for Harlech Court (19/03068/MNR) from November is for a change of use of the first 2 floors from office to educational use. The planning & design statement hints that the owners are in early talks of redevelopment. Looks like they envisage at least 3-5 years before any work started:

Introduction
1. This statement accompanies an application to convert the 1st & 2nd floors of Harlech Court
from offices to educational use. The use would be for the benefit of Cardiff Academy,
which is currently sited in The Parade, Cardiff. However, the Academy, due to its success
will shortly outgrow that premises and needs more floorspace.
2. The owners of Harlech Court have recently engaged in preliminary discussions with the
Council with a view to the complete redevelopment of the site. They still wish to pursue
this objective, and to this end designs, feasibility studies and negotiations with other
interested parties are underway. Thus the current application seeks permission for a
temporary use for a period of 3-5 years. It is intended that the Academy may be rehoused
within the redeveloped site.

Also a thought, there will be a public outcry at any proposed development here because it will no doubt cause another live music venue to close it's doors in Porters. A great bar too!

What will happen to the CIA and that area once the new arena down the bay is built? Would this new building be part of this development?

There have been talks of a massive tower at Harlech court for years, i am sure this image has been on the website for a few years
