Extremely expensive. For the same reason people don’t have currently in a pot all the money they’re going to spend doing on the big food shop for the next 2 years. Money comes in and out and you live month to month/week to week.

That apartment building down the Bay in James Street was left as just a frame of steel girders for years.
This in 2020 https://www.google.com/maps/@51.4646552,-3.16672,3a,75y,358.14h,105.12t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1ssa7i64pPu44lrAAnyoNIXg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
vs this from at least 2009 to 2017 https://www.google.com/maps/@51.4646665,-3.1666916,3a,75y,343.35h,98.92t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sd_j0quNVkNkgorxGVqEYpA!2e0!5s20120601T000000!7i13312!8i6656

I still wonder what state that frame must have been in after all that time weathering.

Amazing how this area has been left to rot, i wonder how other developments will be in 30 years?

Several JCBs on site digging at the site of the former Wharf pub on Atlantic Wharf. Can't remember what the plans are for this site. Can anyone refresh my memory?

It's not, but there isn't a ban on non-essential work. That's a common misunderstanding.

It's only 'non-essential' retailers, catering establishments and businesses that admit the public that are required to be closed. Other 'non-essential' businesses can continue operating if they can do so safely. The rules are here.

The holiday Inn is having work done now. My understanding was they were building a new block where the reception currently is.

I noticed the student tower on Park Place has had the core structure removed from the top after only a couple of floors, any news on this being placed on hold?
