Everytime I walk past the old docks I wonder why they aren't used. Outdoor extensions for techniquest and coffee mania or a floating pub/restaurant are what I thought of. Or crazy golf (giant water trap between).
Swimming pool and sauna hadn't crossed my mind, but why not?

Like the idea of balloon but it's SkyView and I think they were the ones that failed to redevelop Corey's building so I'll take it with a pinch of salt.

It's a fantastic idea, just as long as it's not crazy expensive or full of chavs.

Looks fun, but I've lost count of the sheer number of these types of proposal which come and go. I'm not expending any energy on getting excited about it, it won't happen. But if it does, yay.

I don't think it's a real balloon.Its just designed to look like one 'floating' up and down between a set of perimeter towers with a gondola suspended beneath it, but its really hoisted by a winch mechanism hidden within the towers.

A planning application has been submitted to turn the Market Chambers building and the Paddy Power unit at ground floor level into an Aparthotel. Can't see any operator named in the plans. It would be a conversion from offices.
