Very interesting. I like the look of option 4. I've been thinking recently (WARNING - NOT LOOKING TO GET INTO A POLITICAL DEBATE!!) that IF Wales were ever to gain its independence there would be a sudden need for a load of embassy/consulate premises, most likely in Cardiff Bay. It could transform from a fairly quiet mixed-use office district into a bustling diplomatic quarter in the space of a few short years. I've always thought that the buildings around Mount Stuart Square would be good for this sort of thing.

I always thought that the group of houses just north of Cathays Park (something gardens) woukd make a nice set of embassies

There are a few , they are just rooms in houses or small offices , can't see any countries wanting to spend money on embassies for such a small country when they have them in London already.

I'm guessing there are no embassies or consulates in Dublin, given it is a small country in close proximity to London because no one would want to pay for them.
