Looks OK. I quite like the old warehouse theme and think it looks better than recent development in the area. Its student flats though so will get plenty of hate just for that and the owners of the flats on the other side of schooner way will not be happy about losing their views of Atlantic Wharf.

It looks as though this was part of the old Wharf site (the boathouse if I remember) but for some reason they didn't use it as part of the redevelopment. there was a plan for townhouses on the site to the north but that has probably now expired and there is an undecided application for flats. Theres even a surface car park for Admirals Landing just north of that and it's very surprising how this strip of waterside land has remained undeveloped for so long. I suspect might have been part of the original late 80s masterplan to provide water views for the Schooner way flats, so the owners will probably be somewhat justified in their objections.

All of this reminds me of how much I miss the old Wharf pub. I know it was a 'fake' historic building, but it was one of the few structures in the area with a bit of charm and wit about it. With County Hall at risk as well, we could end up losing everything of note from the 80s/90s era 1st generation docks redevelopment.

Planning application in to knock down Longcross Court on corner of Newport Road and City Road. To be replaced by a student tower. Usual copy and paste design of the student tower

It's pretty bland but Longcross Court is a truly horrid building. I'd be glad to see it go!

Absolutely stunning. A pinnacle of design, architecture and engineering.

Exactly what I thought, and Zenith isn’t the best is it? 60s tower block of the future.

Actually I think Zenith looks okay now it's got other blocks around it. It was a bit of a sore thumb when it was first built.

It's a poor effort for sure, but it's never been close to the worst building on the Cardiff skyline - that prize surely goes to Ty Pont Hearn. I think the biggest problem is it draws attention to itself with the stupid contrasting black cladding on the upper section of the tower (a failed attempt to carry over the factory-style sawtooth roof from the mid-rise section) and the giant ZENITH lettering. I reckon much of the hate could have been avoided by omitting these two features.

This looks to be predominantly clad in brick, so should look much smarter than Zenith. More like the Vita block I should think.
