Seems that there is definitely something going on here although the buildings are not architecturally significant on their own, I think they give a glimpse of Cardiff was in time gone by and should be kept.

Totally agree and I can barely believe this could happen!! I didn't want the vulcan to go but it was kind of out on a limb in the end and failing to succeed as a pub. What's going on in Guildford crescent is surely a success and a great and interesting little area. Shame on Rapport if this all goes through (and they are the landlords).

Maybe I felt something about this as I wandered by yesterday? with no knowledge of this story and took this photo - (a bit twilight zone really for any fossils out there who remember that classic!!)

At what stage is the planning application? I couldn't find it on the Council website earlier. Or is it a statutory pre-application request that's been circulated?

I suppose if the conservation area is passed (any ideas when the decision is made as all the website says is that it's been considered?) it would pretty much kill of the plan to demolish the row?

Having done a bit of reading can't see that Cardiff Council can do much as the area isn't designated as a conservation notice so the demolition takes places under the general permitted development order. Looks like a Council can have issue with the method of demolition and site restoration but not the reason why they want to demolish?

The worst thing about this is that if Rapports do get permission to demolish they'll probably leave the site vacant as they've done with other city centre sites.

This is appalling, and it's going to cause a massive political stink. Expect a big campaign against this plan.
