The basement of Pulse has been reduced in size, have only been twice but there was definitely a much shorter bar on the second visit earlier in the year. Terrible place tbh, sad that Cardiff's great venues like Tunnel (showing my age), King's Cross, Club X and Exit are long gone.

It's the same size. They extended the dance floor a couple of years ago which took away a lot of the raised areas and made it look less interesting. Reason given was to make the basement the place to dance, and the upstairs a place to mingle. The bar is pretty much the same but they shifted it along the wall into what used to be the staff entrance and built a new staff entrance at the other end out of the way instead.

I long for the Exit days too, but as someone that lives on Churchill Way I can confidently say Pulse is incredibly busy at weekends! :|

Live Nation given go-ahead to turn Cardiff warehouse into 10,000-capacity party venue

Looks like a larger version of Motion in Bristol, would be another decent addition to the nightlife anyway

Only three weekends per year, though. Meh.

Chapter's Sio next to Craft in the Bay has closed.

Shame, had a couple of decent lunches there.

That unit seems to suffer a bit. People in the Bay really are loathe to step away from the Waterfront. Craft in the Bay itself seems to be running on fumes, and depleting its assets (although it looks like they own their building):

The main Chapter eatery has also reduced its opening hours. Seems odd as it always seemed to be busy.

Chapter is always busy - but a lot of people are just there to use the free wi-fi. It can be difficult to get a table to eat at because of people using the place as a free office.

Assume they’ve pulled out as there’s been no mention of Cardiff since. Anyone know if the license was approved?
