The team behind some of Swansea's most popular venues is opening two sites in Cardiff.

The new businesses on Cardiff’s High St will replace what was once The Hashery, and will open as Old Havana Cardiff, while the former Seafood Shack next door, will become Juniper Place Cardiff.

David Bellis and Dai Wakely, of hospitality brand Refining Dining Co & Gin distillery, Cygnet Gin, are behind the two brand new Cardiff venues.

The two entrepreneurs own Juniper Place, Old Havana, Li’l London and The Meatery & Martini Co in Swansea as well as the live micro gin distillery at 1, York Street, Cygnet Gin.

One of London's best loved burger joints is to finally open a branch in Wales.
Honest Burgers, which has more than 20 restaurants across the English capital, has signed on the dotted line to open on Cardiff's Church Street next year, probably in early summer.

The company recently secured a £17m refinancing package and has plans to grow to 50 sites by 2020, with the latest additions popping up in Reading and Bristol.

It's first site outside of London was Cambridge in 2017.

Launched in 2011 by Philip Eeles and Tom Barton and boldly claiming to serve the best patties in the UK, Honest Burgers' mouthwatering menu includes the Tribute - made from 35-day dry-aged British chuck steak, with cheese, mustard, bacon and pickles - and the Chimichurri 2.0, with beef, chorizo, relish, red chimi, Taleggio cheese, Malbec onions and shallot mayo.

All burgers come with rosemary salted chips, while brunch items include a full English breakfast and Cheese Burger toastie - a mustard-fried beef patty with pickles and American cheese, sandwiched between Cheddar and Gruyere toasties and accompanied by beef and bacon gravy.

There are also veggie and vegan options, including a sweetcorn, cauliflower and shallot fritter in a bun and a plant-based burger served with vegan smoked Gouda, chipotle 'mayo', mustard, red onion, pickles and lettuce.
