It's because public sector workers are involved. Nothing makes sense

They know its going to be queued most of the time, so why even bother with speed limits.
The Newport road southern relief road is great smashing dual carriage with 30mph zones and enough roundabouts to ensure at least one HGV topples over every month.

Does anyone know if the link was used over the weekend to transport coaches. Original plan was to have it open for trial runs of selected coaches before the general public opening - which must be soon.

Just driven back into Cardiff and the Eastern bay link was queueing east bound!
The queue went all the way to the A48 junction, then all the way to the A48M, then all the way to the M4 then all the way to Tunnels. This was nothing compared to the queue west bound which was back to the toll plaza.
Anyone I mention Cardiff to always comments on how bad the traffic is, it must put off so much inward investment.
As it says on the Gantry Signs
PLAN AHEAD!

Traffic was especially bad yesterday as Coldplay were on in the stadium but you're right traffic in Cardiff is becoming a problem and this tiny bit of road whilst welcome doesn't really solve the problem

Still cant believe it wasnt built to grade separated standard. So much news about Cardiff needing to be forward thinking in the Council/WAG Cardiff LDP, yet they spent all this money on a road which will become one of wales most notorious traffic hotspots in the next 5 years, with all the 40,000 houses being built.
Another example of one of the WAG's "oh we will upgrade it when it actually needs doing" (at triple the cost) attitude.
Have they seriously not learned since the whole Newport M4 debacle?
